Dear Fellow Estonian American and Friend of Estonia!

The Estonian American National Council works to achieve our common goals of ensuring strong U.S. support for Estonia, and of fostering Estonian culture, language, history and traditions in the United States.
Now more than ever before, EANC’s work on the political front is critical. As Russia’s shadow looms large and its invasion of Ukraine threatens to de-stabilize the region, EANC actively participates with other East and Central European and Baltic organizations to inform American policy makers of issues of concern to Estonian Americans. We meet regularly with State Department and National Security Council personnel, as well with Congressional leaders. We also maintain close contact with the Estonian Embassy in Washington and represent Estonian Americans at events in the US and elsewhere.

EANC will also continue to support the preservation of Estonian culture, language and traditions in the United States:
• Provide support for the Estonian Long Island children’s summer camp and Estonian boy scout and girl guide activities.
• Serve on the advisory board and finance committee of the Estonian Archives in the US.
• Contribute to the production and distribution of films such as “The Singing Revolution” and “To Breathe as One.”
• Support the publication of histories, films and memoirs dealing with Estonia and Estonians.
• Support cultural events such as New York Cultural Days, Mid-West Estonian Days (KLENK), and choir, folk dance and theater group performances.

Kallid kaaseestlased ja eestlaste sõbrad!

Eesti Rahvuskomitee Ühendriikides töötab saavutamaks meie ühiseid eesmärke – kindlustada tugevat Ameerika toetust Eestile ja edendada eesti kultuuri, keelt, ajalugu ja traditsioone USA-s.

Nüüd, rohkem kui kunagi varem, on ERKÜ töö poliitilises valdkonnas kriitiline. Nüüd kui Venemaa vari kõigub ähvardavalt ja tema sissetung Ukrainasse ohustab regiooni stabiilsust, töötab ERKÜ aktiivselt, et informeerida Ameerika poliitikuid Ameerika eestlastele muret-tekitavatest küsimustest. Meie kohtume Välisministeeriumiga, Kongressi liikmetega ja nende staabiga, ja hoiame sidet Eesti ja teiste riikide saatkondadega.

ERKÜ 2016. a. toetuste ja ürituste seas olid:

• Long Islandi eesti laste suvelaager, eesti skaudid ja gaidid, ja parandused Järvemetsa skaudi laagris, Lakewoodis, NJ.

• “Vaba Eesti Sõna,” meie eestikeelne ajaleht; raamatud ja filmid Eesti ja eestlaste kohta; ja lepingu sõlmimine Ameerika eestlaste ajaloo raamatu lõpetamiseks.

• Kultuurilised üritused, nagu KLENKi päevad, festivalid, rahvatantsu ja teatri gruppide esinemised.

• Tulevane Kommunismi Ohvrite Muuseum Washingtonis.

• ERKÜ auhinnad väljapaistvatele inimestele ja organisatsioonidele.
